I have been wanting to go travelling forever, but I haven’t got round to it yet. Mostly because I don’t have the money to do so. (also I have the cutest dog ever I don’t think I have it in me to leave him for some long just yet). Everyone’s Wishlist is different, but you can take inspiration from different lists, so I figured, why not put some of my must go places in one place?
Rome has been on my wishlist forever, I can’t remember a time where I just didn’t want to go to Rome. This need/want to go to Rome was just heightened when I did my degree in Art History & Archaeology a couple of years back where I just fell deeper in love with this history of this city. There is just soooooo much I want to do here, The Vatican is a must, not to mention The Sistine Chapel (my art history geekiness) The Colosseum, The Pantheon, The Trevi Fountain, oh the list is endless. OH and as much as of course this history is the most important thing – the second most important thing is the food. Good hearty authentic Italian food at your fingertips – why would you not want to go here?
Thailand just speaks for itself doesn’t it really?
Thailand is just one of those places that I want to visit mostly just because of how gorgeous it looks. I’ve seen friends post pictures of their trips to Thailand and it just looks utterly amazing, I know the aesthetic’s are important but I would love to just experience a completely new culture, and the food for that matter I would imagine to be mind blowing.
It looks like complete and utter paradise. One way ticket anyone? I think so .
Cambodia is also on the list because of my degree, during my second year I completed an essay on Angkor Wat, which is probably one of the most beautiful settlement ruins I have ever looked at.
It is the largest religious temple in the word and dates back to the 12th century, if you haven’t even heard of Angkor Wat before and you’re wondering what on earth I’m blabbering about, take a look at how beautiful it is. Also ( I may be wrong about this, but I’m pretty sure it’s used in the Tomb Raider movies with Angelina Jolie? it does kind of scream Tomb Raider)
Essentially just East Asia, China & Japan, all are beautiful countries but they’re just completely out of this world. Technology would be so advanced I think I’d feel how our parents feel when we give them a laptop. Everything in both countries is just so out of our comfort zones and that’s one of my main reasons for wanting to travel. I like being pushed out of my comfort zone from time to time, plus (i know I keep mentioning food) but oh my god. Could you imagine just HOW good authentic Chinese food is? It is something that I need in my life; plus who wouldn’t want to go and see The Great Wall of China? let’s not forget the amazing Terracotta Army. Terracotta Army was officially on the wish list, which again is down to my degree.
( my degree was beyond amazing, if I could do it all again I would in a heartbeat)
Africa/ South Africa has been on my wishlist almost as long as Rome has, but I think even more recently because I’ve such a huge huge supporter of the WWF foundation. Every charity I give to when I have the chance will go towards the WWF. I’ve even adopted a tiger with them! (Which sadly died but that’s not the point) I would just love love love to see all these magnificent animals in their natural environment.Plus it is absolutely stunning!
Not only is there loads to do in Mexico but this isn’t the reason I want to go. My main reason for wanting to go is legit just so I can sit in the sun, in my bikini, with tequila and a sombrero on and not feel guilty about it – plus can I just say how much I am in LOVE with Mexican food – I really don’t think I’ll leave if I go.
I could literally do a forever long list on why I want to visit nearly every country there is so I’ll just keep it short and snappy and leave you all with Mexico!
Hope you’ve enjoyed my lovelies
